Update: Bobrisky’s Arrest Confirmed …Charged To Court Over Abuse of Naira

The controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bob Risky, has been verified to have been arrested, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to Dele Oyewole, the agency’s spokesman, Bob Risky was taken into custody at the anti-graft agency’s Lagos office on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been arrested by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Command for allegedly spraying Naira notes.

The Commission said in a statement released through X on Thursday that it had invited the 31-year-old in response to a video that surfaced online showing her spray-painting and flaunting wads of brand-new Naira notes at the March 24, 2024, Film One Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, for the premiere of the film Ajakaju, which was produced by Nollywood actress and producer Eniola Ajao.

According to EFCC, investigation also revealed that he had committed the alleged offence at some other event centres and parties at different times.

“Following the invitation by the Commission, he arrived at the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC on the morning of Wednesday, April 4, 2024, for interrogation and volunteered his statements.

“He will soon be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations,” it said.
