National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons NAPTIP has hauled a Lagos house wife AFFIONG ALICE ASUQUO (A.K.A.) EVELYN ASUQUO alleged to have been engaging in pimp before a Federal high court in Lagos.
According to five count charge filed before the court by NAPTIP Senior Legal officer U.I Egonu, it was allegedly stated that AFFIONG ALICE ASUQUO a.k.a. Evelyn ASUQUO 31 years, of number 7. Idimu Road, Ikotun, Lagos State between January and April 2024 at African 2000 Brothel harbored three different girls whose ages ranges between 18 and 21 years, knowing that they would be induced or forced into prostitution, thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15(b) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015 and punishable under same Section of the Act.
The defendant pleaded not guilty, The presiding Judge, Justice Ayokunle Faji has adjourned till 21st of October, 2024 when the trial of the defendant will commence.
