It is no longer news that Nollywood actress Liz Anjorin was accused of being involved in a fake money transfer scam. This came to light after a video went viral on social media. According to the video, the actress was alleged to have done a phoney transfer following a purchase she made at Idumota, Lagos Island, sometime last year.
Liz Anjorin, a customer of Qudus, after the purchase was provided with a third-party account (POS) number to settle her payment due to the unavailability of cash. Although Anjorin claims that she had made the transfer as per the instructions given by Qudus, she allegedly missed some of the digits from the provided account details. Consequently, the transaction was rendered invalid unknown to Qudus. Qudus believed that the payment had been made.
On February 5th, Liz went shopping at Idumota while in disguise. However, she was recognized by Qudus who politely confronted her about an invalid transfer made the previous year.
During their conversations, a couple of other market sellers and passersby recognised who she was and videoed her. The video was posted online and went viral.
Liz called her husband, who made another transfer after the first was deemed invalid by Qudus, Adegoke (POS Vendor), and Liz herself.
Remember, Liz and another Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo have been at loggerheads. After the recent social media outburst between the two actresses, Lizzy Anjorin and Iyabo Ojo, Anjorin took to social media to give her side of the story regarding the fake money transfer. During her Instagram Live, she allegedly accused Iyabo Ojo of being the mastermind behind the whole drama and claimed that she had set her up. Anjorin reportedly rained curses on Ojo and went on to defend herself against the allegations that had been made against her. The incident caused a stir on social media, with fans taking sides and debating the authenticity of the claims.
A few hours later, Liz came back to the market, arrested Qudus and Goke on the ground that they leaked her video to the general public and also claimed she was pregnant and lost her pregnancy during the saga. It takes the intervention of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos, for poor POS vendor, Goke to be granted bail.
It was clear that Liz was not pregnant during the incident and did not suffer any pregnancy loss as she was seen doing live video immediately after the incident.
