Former Captain of the Nigeria U20 and U23 National Teams, Isaac Promise Dies at 31
His US-based club, Austin Bold, said the former Genclerbirligi and Trabzonspor striker passed on Wednesday night after collapsing at his apartment gym in Austin, Texas, authorities said. He was 31.
Promise led the Golden Eaglets to the 2003 FIFA U17 World Cup in Finland before he captained the Flying Eagles to a second-place finish two years later at the FIFA U20 World Cup in the Netherlands. He was also part of the Beijing 2008 Olympics team that won a silver medal, and made three senior appearances for the Super Eagles.
