It was all celebration, warmth and honour for the Chairman, Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema as he visited his alma mater – the premier University of Ibadan for the Alumnus Homecoming on Friday, December 6. He was honoured as the ‘Most Distinguished Alumnus of the Year’ at the Second Stanza of the 2019 Alumni Lecture organized by the University of Ibadan Alumni Association.

The students, particularly residents of the prestigious Ransome Kuti Hall would not be left out of the fun as they came out in their numbers bearing banners and drums to welcome their own – role model, hero and ‘A Great Man’.

Chief Onyema, in his usual calm disposition expressed his profound gratitude to the University Management led by Professor Idowu Olayinka and the leadership of alumni association for the honour done on him. He also expressed his delight to the ‘Kutites’ for the warmest reception which they accorded him on his homecoming.

In his good will message delivered at the lecture, he thanked the alumni association for the work being done in contributing to the discourse on ethnic harmony in Nigeria and for the award “which is both a nudge to do more and an encouragement to remain committed to the good of all”.
