RESCHEDULED IDO LG ELECTION: Oyo state government assures residents of safety and smooth process

Oyo state government has assured residents of Ido local government that it would take all necessary measures to guarantee their safety in the local government election rescheduled to hold this Wednesday 26th May 2021

The state government in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on OYSIEC, hon. Innocent Tallest explained that security of lives and properties of the people of Oyo state remained paramount and necessary measures would be put in place to ensure that no life was lost during the process.

Residents of Ido local government were equally reassured that OYSIEC would fully complete the process it had started, and would perform creditably well come tomorrow 26th May, 2021.

Voters from Ido have also been urged to conduct themselves in orderly manner with strict observance of COVID-19 guidelines while heading to the polls to elect chairman and ward councilors in the state.

Security agencies in the state were also appreciated for their efforts of diligently discharging their duties professional which afforded electoral umpires, candidates and electorates, the enabling environment for a smooth exercise.

It would be recalled that the local government elections held on the 22nd of May 2021 was not conducted in Ido local government due to the omission of Zenith Labour Party’s logo from the ballot papers
