Olaide Arike Bello is a mother, actress, producer, and multifaceted creative who introduces her talent through this new film. “ASIYAN” is a multimillion-naira project filmed in Nigeria and Canada. The movie is inspired by real events and delves into the challenges families face abroad, aiming to convey a powerful message to a global audience.
According to producer Olaide Shugar, this movie tells the story of an immigrant who relocates abroad. Trapped in a cycle of marital abuse, a resilient woman reaches her breaking point and embarks on a daring journey to reclaim her freedom, risking everything to take control of her destiny. This captivating film features a talented cast, including Mide Abiodun, Juwon Ayorinde, Olaide Shugar, Tunde Aderinoye, Kamil Kompo, Madam Saje, Mama Ereko, Kayode Adebayo, and Bukola Salawu, among others.
Olaide Shugar, who hails from Shomolu, Lagos, is the youngest of five children and the only girl. She studied nursing at the prestigious University of Lagos before relocating to Canada. “I’ve always loved acting, even though I’m shy. I enjoy bringing stories to life,” she stated.
Affectionately known as Shugar by her friends and colleagues, she is also a professional makeup artist, a prolific photographer, and a developmental support worker.
