Udoh, who initially signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Southampton, spent seven months with the club but did not make a senior appearance before mutually agreeing to part ways in search of regular playing opportunities.

Prior to his move to England, he was with Belgian club Royal Antwerp, where he progressed through the ranks after transferring from Abuja-based Hypebuzz. He distinguished himself at the reserve level by netting 12 goals in 21 matches and subsequently made 28 first-team appearances for the club.

Reports indicate that he was regarded as a promising talent in his early European career, with his development garnering considerable attention prior to his transfer to Southampton.
