Exposed! How RCCG Pastor Allegedly Flees With $8,000 Church Funds

A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has allegedly absconded with $8,000 earmarked for church missions, abandoned his wife in South Africa, and remarried in the United States, according to Pastor Folu Adeboye, wife of the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Pastor Folu made the shocking revelation during a recent men’s programme organized by the church.

In a video of the event that has since gone viral, she recounted how the unnamed pastor, originally from Ekiti State, was assigned to a parish in Cape Town, South Africa.

She narrated that during a missionary visit to the city, she was surprised to find the church holding worship services inside a fast-food restaurant. Midway through her sermon, a staff member reportedly walked in and began packing up chairs, indicating the end of the allotted time for the church’s use of the space.

Concerned about the worship conditions, Pastor Folu said she inquired from the pastor what it would cost to begin acquiring a permanent worship site. He reportedly proposed an investment plan and estimated $8,000 would be needed. His idea involved purchasing a used vehicle to be handed over to a local tourism company, with anticipated returns reinvested into acquiring land for the church.

Convinced by the proposal, Pastor Folu said she provided the funds.

However, the pastor allegedly diverted the money, fled the country, left his wife behind, and relocated to the United States, where he eventually remarried.

The incident, she lamented, left the pastor’s wife in a dire emotional and mental condition.

“The woman he abandoned in South Africa is presently in a terrible state, almost running mad,” Pastor Folu said.

In her address to the men of the church, she decried what she described as a growing spirit of deceit and lack of spiritual accountability, urging a return to the core values of Christianity.

“RCCG men, what are we going to do? Are we going to continue with such a lying spirit, a deceitful spirit to the God of the kingdom?” she queried passionately.

Pastor Folu also reflected on the humble beginnings of Redemption City, RCCG’s global headquarters, highlighting the sacrifices made in the early years.
