Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity has said President Muhammadu Buhari will deliver a nationwide address at 7pm today, Thursday.
This comes after several calls from many Nigerians for the President to address the nation regarding the escalation of violence in different parts of the country.
The National Assembly also implored the President few days ago to address Nigerians publicly in order to proffer a solution to the security issue in the country.
Adesina has now disclosed that the address will take place today, saying;
Following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will make a national broadcast Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm.
Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.
There are high expectations for the nationwide address from President Buhari, as Nigerians speculate that a state of emergency may be declared to quell the violence and uprising in the country following #EndSARS protests.
