*UNWORTHY CERTIFICATION OF AIRPEACE: OUR POSITION* 

The leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN wish to categorically state her position on the unworthy certification of Air Peace by Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA of Air worthiness after acclaimed audit.

Nigerians will remember that the said airline AIR PEACE Boeing 737-500 aircraft from Abuja – Port Harcourt on Saturday afternoon skidded off the Port Harcourt International Airport runway upon landing. when the aircraft skidded off the Runway to the left about 1300m from the Runway 21 threshold at the Port Harcourt International Airport. having 94 passengers and 6 crew onboard, on 22 June, 2019.

The same airline recorded another near miss at Muritala Muhammed International Airport on 23rd July 2019 within a month interval  when her plan Boeing 737 with 133  passengers and 6 crew burst front Tyre on landing. Boeing 737-300 aircraft with Registration Mark 5N-BUK, belonging to the same Air Peace.

Same Air Peace recorded averted air disaster on Thursday Oct 26, 2018 when her flight from Lagos-Owerri Flight 7252 returned to base shortly after take-off at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos due to a change in cabin pressure will passengers and cabin crew.

The three averted National calamity scenarios required total grounding of Airpeace for years but very disgusting NCAA came up with airworthy certification with no worthy report and sanctions.

Nigeria as a nation is yet to recover from Sosoliso, Bellview, ADC and Recent Ethiopia Airline plane crash that claim hundreds of lives including Pastor Adekoya, Student of Layola Jesuit Colleges Abuja, former Emir of Sokoto and  Prof Pius Adesanmi among others prominent and innocent Nigeria citizens who died of professional ignorance of some authorities in aviation sector. 

Therefore NYCN will strive hard to avert reoccurrence of any ugly incidents, we are suspicious that the acclaimed air worthiness is influence and never a real state of Airpeace flights hence we kicked. 

We hereby state as follows;

1. We outrightly reject the fraudulent airworthy certification of Airpeace by NCAA

2. We demand immediate shut down of Airpeace till further notice

3. We demand full investigation of two recent incidents and open publication of their reports.

4. We demand ban on Boeing 737 in Nigeria airway till further notice as other nation did.

Failure to act in adherence  to our demands within 7 working days by NCAA, FAAN and airpeace shall melt the stiff resistance of Nigerian youth apex body. We will Shut down airpeace canter in all Nigeria airport should they fail to honorably shutdown their airline as well occupy Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja should FAAN failed to consider and implement our position herein.
